LAS VEGAS, NV (July 14, 2022)—The Las Vegas Aces (17-7) topped the 100-point mark for a WNBA record third straight game, Thursday afternoon, upending New York (9-15) on the road, 108-74.
First Quarter (Las Vegas 37, New York 13)
Las Vegas scored the first 12 point of the game, holding the liberty scoreless for the first 2:34. The Aces would go on to lead by as many as 24 in the period. Las Vegas made its first 10 shots to start the game, falling one short of the WNBA record for consecutive made field goal to start a game. A’ja Wilson (12 points) and Chelsea Gray (11) each scored in double figures in the quarter for Las Vegas.
Second Quarter (Las Vegas 71, New York 36)
The Aces pushed their lead to as many as 35. A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 20 points. Combined with Kelsey Plum (17) and Chelsea Gray (16), the Aces top scoring trio outscored the Liberty as a team 53-36. The 71 points scored by the Aces is the most ever in a first half in WNBA history.

Las Vegas’ 71 points in the first half broke the WNBA record for points in a first half previously held by the Phoenix Mercury who netted 69 on July 29, 2010 vs. Minnesota.
The Aces 12 made three-pointers in the first half was one off the WNBA record for three-pointers in a half.
Las Vegas’ 21 first-half assists is one back of the WNBA record for assists in a half.
Kelsey Plum scored in double figures for the 31st straight game and the 88th time in her career (21 points). It is also the 12th time this season, and the 27th in her career, that she has scored 20 or more points.

Riquna Williams scored in double figures for the 2nd time this season, and the first since May 13 (13 points).
