GAME RECAP: Las Vegas Tops 100-Point Mark For WNBA Record Third Straight Game In 108-74 win Over New York

LAS VEGAS, NV (July 14, 2022)—The Las Vegas Aces (17-7) topped the 100-point mark for a WNBA record third straight game, Thursday afternoon, upending New York (9-15) on the road, 108-74.

First Quarter (Las Vegas 37, New York 13)

Las Vegas scored the first 12 point of the game, holding the liberty scoreless for the first 2:34. The Aces would go on to lead by as many as 24 in the period. Las Vegas made its first 10 shots to start the game, falling one short of the WNBA record for consecutive made field goal to start a game. A’ja Wilson (12 points) and Chelsea Gray (11) each scored in double figures in the quarter for Las Vegas.

Second Quarter (Las Vegas 71, New York 36)

The Aces pushed their lead to as many as 35. A’ja Wilson led all scorers with 20 points. Combined with Kelsey Plum (17) and Chelsea Gray (16), the Aces top scoring trio outscored the Liberty as a team 53-36. The 71 points scored by the Aces is the most ever in a first half in WNBA history.

Chelsea Gray scored in double figure for the 18th time this season and the 155th of her career (16 points).

Riquna Williams scored in double figures for the 2nd time this season, and the first since May 13 (13 points).

Jackie Young handed out a season-high 9 assists, one off of her career high.

Las Vegas’ 33 bench points are the most they have scored this season.
