GAME RECAP: Aces Get Back To Winning Ways With, 90-77, Victory Over Visiting Fever

LAS VEGAS, NV (July 21, 2022)—Las Vegas improved to 19-8 on the season, including 4-1 since the All-Star Break Thursday, with a 90-77 victory over visiting Indiana .

Trailing by two, 9-7, the Aces scored 8 straight points to go up six, 15-9. Jackie Young didn’t miss a shot in the quarter making both of her field goal attempts and all three of her free throws for a game-high 7 points. Indiana made just 1 of 8 three-pointers in the quarters en route to 36.4 percent shooting from the field

Second Quarter (Las Vegas 52, Indiana 32)

The Aces led by nine, 34-25, with 5:42 remaining, and scored six straight and 14 of the next 17 points to go up 20, 50-30. Chelsea Gray and A’ja Wilson each scored 8 points in the period.

Third Quarter (Las Vegas 76, Indiana 52)

An 11-0 run early in the period extended the Aces advantage to 31, 68-37.

Fourth Quarter (Las Vegas 90, Indiana 77)

Las Vegas lead vacillated between 16 and 21 points until the Fever closed the game on a 7-0 run.

Kelsey Plum’s 1 three-pointers give her 84 on the year, extending her franchise single-season record. The record for most threes in a season by somebody not named Diana Taurasi is 88 by Katie Smith in 2000. Taurasi holds the league record with 121 three-pointers in a season.

Kelsey Plum scored 9 points, breaking her streak of consecutive games scoring in double figures at 33.

A’ja Wilson scored in double figures for the 25th time this season and the 133rd time in her career (23 points). It was her 14th game of 20 or more points this year and the 68th of her career, which extends her franchise record for most 20 point games in a career. It is also the 6th straight game in which she has scored 20 or more points tying the franchise record held by Becky Hammon.

Chelsea Gray scored in double-figures for the 20th time this season and the 157th time in her career (14 points). She added a season-high 12 assists for her fifth point-assist double-double of her career.
