Las Vegas Aces Asking Fans to Show Up in Pink for Aug. 1 Breast Health Awareness Night
LAS VEGAS (July 25, 2023)—The Las Vegas Aces are asking fans to wear pink to pink out the house as the organization raises awareness for breast cancer when it takes on the Atlanta Dream at 7 pm PT on Aug. 1 at Michelob ULTRA Arena.
The first 5,000 fans in attendance will receive pink thundersticks, distributed by Aces interns from Opportunity Village, and there will be pink Nike headbands and socks given out throughout the game. Fans will be encouraged to fill out “I Play For” signs, which will be available on the concourse, to honor those who have fought or are presently battling cancer. Special moments throughout the game will pay tribute to survivors and honor lives lost.
The Aces will be joining forces to raise funds benefitting the Kay Yow Cancer Fund via the “Shooting for a Cure” PledgIt Campaign, while simultaneously raising awareness around Triple Negative Breast Cancer and its disproportionate effects on Black women. Fans are being asked to join the Las Vegas by making a one-time donation or pledge for every made 3-pointer in the game.
Additionally, on July 28 the Las Vegas Aces will be hosting a Mammovan screening event at Aces headquarters with appearances by select Aces players, Aces staff and mascot BUCKET$. Each patient who receives a mammography screening at the event will receive a pair of tickets to the Aces game on August 1. Up to 40 patients may be screened that day and appointments must be made in advance by calling 1-877-581-6266 and selecting option 1.
