LAS VEGAS (July 5, 2026) – The Las Vegas Aces (15-6) fell into a double digit hole in the third quarter, could not muster a comeback and eventually dropped their Sunday evening game to the Indiana Fever (12-8), 84-68, at T-Mobile Arena. Jackie Young led the Aces with a team-high 15 points, Jewell Loyd tallied 12, Chelsea Gray chipped in 10 points and a game-high 6 assists, and NaLyssa Smith recorded a near double-double with 10 rebounds and 9 points.

Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with a game-high 27 points, followed by Aliyah Boston’s 18 and Lexie Hull’s 10.

1st Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 24, Indiana 23)
The Aces held an early 7-2 lead before the Fever went on a 10-3 run, resulting in a 12-10 Indiana advantage with 4 minutes gone by. The lead bounced back and forth, including a 4-point Fever lead at 23-19, until Loyd sunk a pair of free throws to end the first with a 24-23 Aces lead. Las Vegas shot a strong 61.5% (8-13 FGs) from the floor and 42.9% (3-7 3pt FGs) from distance; Indiana made 45% (9-20 FGs) and 33.3% (2-6 3pt FGs). There were 5 lead changes, 4 knotted scores and neither team led by more than 5. Mitchell and Young led their respective teams with 7 points each.

2nd Quarter Highlights (Indiana 42, Las Vegas 41)
The lead see-sawed over the first 4 minutes until the Fever took a slim 31-28 lead with just over 5 minutes to go. The Fever’s lead grew to 6, before the Aces went on a 7-0 spurt to reclaim the lead and give Las Vegas a 41-40 edge. A last-second jumper by Hull put Indiana back in front, 42-41, heading into the locker room. Both teams only hit 1 of 5 3-point attempts, but the Fever made 44.4% overall from the floor and the Aces shot just 31.2%. Loyd led all scorers with 7 points, while Hull led the Fever with 6.

3rd Quarter Highlights (Indiana 68, Las Vegas 55)
The Aces first 6 points came from the charity stripe, while the Fever’s 4 out of its first 5 made field goals were 3-pointers over a 14-8 run, resulting in a 56-49 Indiana lead with under 5 minutes left. After Brianna Turner scored to bring the Aces to 56-51, Indiana scored 8 straight in 66 seconds to extend its lead to double digits for the first time, 64-51. From there, the Aces couldn’t trim the lead to below 11 and ended the third quarter down 13, 68-55. Las Vegas shot an icy 27.3% from the floor and didn’t hit any of its 3, 3-point attempts; Indiana shot 40% from the field and 44.4% (4-9 3pt FGs) from distance. Mitchell was the lone scorer in double figures with 11 points, while Young topped the Aces with 6.

4th Quarter Highlights (Indiana 84, Las Vegas 68)
After a minute elapsed, the Aces fell into a 16-point, 73-57 hole. Las Vegas, however, responded with 5 straight from Smith to trim it to 11, but that was closest the deficit would be the rest of the way. The Aces shot 40% (6-15 FGs) from the floor, but came up empty from 3-point land, while the Fever hit 41.7% (5-12 FGs) of their shots and hit 2 of 3 from beyond the arc. Smith led all with 5 points, while Mitchell scored 4.

With 3 made field goals tonight, Loyd passed Tangela Smith (2,059) for the No. 19 spot in league history (we regret the error on this note Friday night. Smith is listed in one database as having 2,058 made field goals, but the official database, Elias, has her with 2,059).

Gray has not missed a free throw (16-16 FTs) since June 21, when she went 2 of 3 from the line against Golden State.
