LAS VEGAS (Aug. 28, 2026) – Behind game-highs of 27 points and 8 rebounds from reigning M’VP A’ja Wilson, the Las Vegas Aces (27-13) surged past the Toronto Tempo (11-27) 93-73 at ‘The House’ on Friday evening in the team’s final game before the World Cup break. In addition to Wilson’s contributions, Jackie Young recorded 23 points with a game-high 8 assists, while Chelsea Gray chipped in 11 points, 4 assists and 4 steals.

Toronto’s Isabelle Harrison led the Tempo with 15 points as Toronto finished with 5 double figure scorers.

1st Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 27, Toronto 17)
The first 2 and a half minutes featured 3 ties until a Young 3 at 7:00 gave Las Vegas its first lead, 11-8, and the home side never again trailed. The Aces expanded it to 16-10 with just under 4 minutes left and after Toronto scored the next 4, the Aces went on a 8-0 spurt to make it 24-14. Cheyenne Parker-Tyus hit a 3 in the quarter’s waning seconds to give the Aces a 10-point lead to end the frame. Las Vegas shot 50% overall (10-20 FGs) and from distance (6-12 3pt FGs), while the Tempo hit 43.8% of their shots and 3 of 8 from deep. Las Vegas capitalized on the Tempo’s 10 turnovers, flipping them into 10 points, while the Aces only turned the ball over just once. Young led all scorers with 12 points; Harrison and Kiana Williams led Toronto with 5 apiece.

2nd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 56, Toronto 39)
After Toronto cut the lead to single digits, 31-22, in the first minute and a half, 4 points from Wilson brought the Aces advantage up to 13 and the lead remained in double figures the rest of the game. Wilson scored 10 of the Aces final 14 points to give Las Vegas a 17-point cushion heading into the locker room. Las Vegas shot 50% (8-16 FGs) once again from the floor but only knocked down 1 of its 6 3-point attempts, while Toronto hit all 4 of their 3s and shot 43.8% overall again from the field. The reigning M’VP led all players with 14 points, including 6 of 6 from the free throw line and 4 of 4 from the field, while no Tempo player scored more than 5.

3rd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 74, Toronto 55)
After Toronto scored the first bucket, the Aces tallied the next 6 for a 62-41 advantage with just under 3 minutes elapsed. After a Tempo timeout, Toronto went on an 8-0 run that dwindled the Aces’ lead to 13 but it would get no closer. During that stretch, the Aces were scoreless for 3 minutes until Gray connected on an and-1 to end the scoring drought. Neither team shot better than 40% from the field in the third — Las Vegas hit 6 of 15 (.400) and Toronto connected on 35.3% (6-17 FGs). The two teams shot a combined 2 of 12 (.167) from deep – each side made a single 3. Laura Juskaite tallied a high of 9 points, while Young topped out with 6 for the home team.

Over 37 games, Wilson has scored 962 points and needs 38 more for her second 1’000-point season.

Wilson entered the game listing No. 5 on the league’s all-time single-season scoring list with 935 points.
