VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Aug. 23, 2026) –A 27-point performance by A’ja Wilson and a 21-point outing by Jackie Young paced the Las Vegas Aces (26-13) to a 88-78 victory over the Toronto Tempo (11-26) in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Sunday evening. In addition to Wilson and Young’s combined 48 points, the Aces received 9 apiece from Chelsea Gray, Steph Talbot and Mai Yamamoto; while Gray and Wilson passed out 7 assists each.

Toronto had five players score in double figures, led by Kia Nurse, who came off the bench for 19 points.

1st Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 25, Toronto 22)
The third and final lead change of the game came off a NaLyssa Smith bucket that gave the Aces a 10-9 edge with 4 minutes expired. That bucked launched an 8-2 spurt that put the Aces up 16-11 with 4 minutes left in the quarter. Toronto stayed close, cutting it to 2 on 3 occasions but never fully bridged the gap. Both teams shot better than 50%, with the Aces netting 62.5% of their shots and 2 of 3 from deep; Toronto made 55.6% of theirs but just 2 of 7 behind the arc. Wilson led the field with 9 points and Temi Fagbenle had 8.

2nd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 43, Toronto 39)
The Aces slowly expanded their lead and extended it to 10 points, 43-33, with 64 seconds left in the half. However, Las Vegas sent the Tempo to the line for 2 points, then gave up 4 more after a pair of turnovers and the teams headed to the locker room with Toronto trailing by just 4, 43-39. The Aces 18 points were spread around to 6 players with nobody scoring more than 4, while Toronto had a pair score 5 apiece. The Aces made 8 of 16 from the field but 1 of 4 from deep; the Tempo hit on 5 of 13 (.385) overall and 2 of 6 from 3-point.

3rd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 66, Toronto 57)
The Aces missed their first 4 shots of the second half before making 5 of their next 6 in an 11-2 run, leading to a 54-43 advantage. As they had in the first half, however, the Tempo reined it back in, closing to 5 points, 62-57, with 2 and a half minutes left in the stanza before the Aces notched the final 4 points for a little breathing room heading into the final frame. Las Vegas hit on 52.6% of their shots overall but dropped to 1 of 7 from 3-point, while Toronto was held to 38.9% shooting from the field and 3 of 9 behind the arc. Young scored a high of 10 points and Nurse checked in for 6 for the home side.

4th Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 88, Toronto 78)
A 13-4 run by the Aces opened the final frame gave Las Vegas a 79-61 lead, which never again dropped below double figures. The Aces hit 42.9% of their shots, the lowest quarter of the game, and just 1 of 6 from 3-point; the Tempo made 41.2% of theirs and went 3 of 5 from afar. Wilson scored 9 points and Nurse had 6 for Toronto.

GAME NOTES

Over 36 games, Wilson has scored 935 points and needs 65 more for her second 1’000-point season.

Wilson entered the game listing No. 7 on the league’s all-time single-season scoring list with 908 points. With her 27 points, she passed herself at No. 6 (912, 2023) and No. 5 Breanna Stewart’s 919 scored in 2023. No. 4 is the 937 Wilson scored in 2025.

Wilson notched her 29th 20-point game of the year moved ahead of Tina Charles for second-most in league history with 191. Diana Taurasi is No. 1 with 259 20-point games.

Young scored at least 20 points for the 20th time this season and 77th of her career.

Wilson has scored in double figures a league-leading 60 consecutive games.

With 485 career steals, No. 27 Gray now trails Becky Hammon (488) by 3.
