PORTLAND, Ore. (June 11, 2026) – Chelsea Gray netted a WNBA record-tying 9 3-pointers to help the Las Vegas Aces (9-3, 4-0) put out the Portland Fire (6-8, 0-4) 105-89 on Thursday night in Portland, Oregon. In addition to Gray, who scored 29 points on 10 of 15 from the field and 9 of 13 from 3-point, the Aces were bolstered by A’ja Wilson‘s game-best 32 points, while NaLyssa Smith, 12 points and 10 rebounds, and Jackie Young, 18 points and 10 assists, notched their first double-doubles of the season.

Carla Leite paced Portland with 18 points, while Megan Gustafson tallied 17, Sarah Ashlee Barker added 14 and Bridget Carleton chipped in 13.

The Aces are 4-0 in Commissioner’s Cup play and have earned $12,000 for the Public Education Fund, the Aces nonprofit partner for the 2026 CC games. With the win, the Aces upped their all-time record in Commissioner’s Cup games to a league-high 32 victories.

1st Quarter Highlights (Portland 28, Las Vegas 27)
The score was never more than a 4-point differential during a tight quarter that featured 6 lead changes and 5 knotted scores. Portland committed zero turnovers and converted the Aces 4 miscues into 5 points. The Aces shot just 43.8% (7-16 FGs) from the floor but hit on 4 of 7 (.571) from deep and 9 of 10 from the line. 2nd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 56, Portland 50)
It was another back-and-forth affair – there were 5 lead changes and 5 ties in all. With less than a minute remaining, Smith put the Aces up 52-50 and they scored 4 more for a 6-point lead at the midway point. The Aces got hot in the second, hitting 10 of 16 (.625) from the floor and 4 of 6 (.667) from deep, while holding the Fire to 9 of 19 (.474) from the field and 1 of 7 (.143) from 3-point. Gray hit 4 of 5 from 3 for a high of 12 points, Leite led Portland with 6.

3rd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 78, Portland 72)
The Aces extended their lead to 16 after a 9-0 run put Las Vegas up 70-54. However, the Fire was not out and responded with a 6-0 spurt. The Aces maintained some distance and went up 13 with 2 minutes on the clock. From there, the Fire reeled the score back in and scored the final 7 points to pull within 6 with 10 minutes to play. The Aces made 44.4% of their shots from the field and just 1 of 5 from 3, while the Fire hit on 66.7% of their attempts and 3 of 5 beyond the arc. Wilson scored a high of 16 and Leite led Portland with 8.

4th Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 105, Portland 89)
After Portland scored the first points of the fourth, Las Vegas sprinted to a 17-5 run, expanding its lead to 95-79 with four minutes to play and extinguishing any comeback hopes Portland may have harbored. The Aces made an even 50% of their shots overall (11-22 FGs) and from deep (5-10 3pt FGs) and limited Portland to 35.3% (6-17 FGs) from the field and 3 of 8 from afar. Gray scored a high of 9 points – all behind the arc – and two Fire players had 5 points apiece.
