Aces History: WNBA Performers of the Week
The first WNBA Player of the Week awards were handed out during the inaugural 1997 season. At that time, there was just one weekly award presented, regardless of conference affiliation. In 2007, the league began presenting two weekly awards—one for the Eastern Conference, and one for the Western Conference.
