DOHA, QATAR (October 15, 2019)—Las Vegas Aces guard Jackie Young scored a game-high nine points Tuesday as the USAB 3×3 squad trounced Russia, 22-3 (box score), to finish group play with a perfect 3-0 record.
The U.S. defense was dominant holding Russia to 14 percent shooting from the field. Young was 7 for 15 from the field for nine points, while Napheesa Collier added six, Paige Bueckers scored 4, and Ruthy Hubbard chipped in with three.
The top two teams from each of the four groups advance to the quarterfinals. As the winner of Group A, the U.S. takes on Group B’s second place finisher, Brazil, on Wednesday beginning at 4:30 am PT. The semifinals, as well as the Bronze and Gold Medal Games are also slated for Wednesday.
