LAS. VEGAS—Two weeks ago, Liz Cambage got emotional during her introductory press conference with the Las Vegas aces, recalling how she would cry to her mom almost every night during her first season in the WNBA with the Tulsa Shock.
While the distress hasn’t kept her from All-Star teams and record-breaking performances, Cambage’s relationship with the WNBA has been far from smooth. She returned to the league in 2018 after five years overseas, only to demand a trade out of Dallas earlier this year. On May 16, Cambage landed in Las Vegas in a multi-player deal.
To hear the 27-year-old rave about her new team is both novel and promising.
