OLYMPICS GAME RECAP: South Korea Falls, 73-69, To Spain

Tokyo, Japan (July 26, 2021)—JiSu Park poured in 17 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, handed out 4 assists and blocked 3 shots, but it wasn’t enough to prevent South Korea (0-1) from falling, 73-69, to Spain in the Olympics opener for both teams.

South Korea led 35-33 at the half, but Spain emerged from a tight third quarter with a one-point lead, 54-53. There were 5 ties, and 5 lead changes in the period, and neither team led by more than 4 points.

Spain took charge early in the fourth, opening the quarter on a 12-0 run and effectively ending the game.

South Korea plays again on July 28 when they take on Canada at 6 pm PT.
