Las Vegas Re-Signs Forward Valeriane Ayayi

Las Vegas (March 20, 2018)—Las Vegas Aces President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has re-signed forward Valeriane Ayayi.

The 6-0 French native originally signed with San Antonio as a free agent on July 27, 2015, and played in 16 games for the Stars as a 21-year-old rookie. She averaged 2.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game that year, setting career highs of 10 points vs. Atlanta on July 29 and eight rebounds vs. Seattle on September 13.

Although she hasn’t played in the WNBA since 2015, Ayayi has continued to play professionally in France. This year, she is averaging 12.6 points, 4.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists for Bourges—the first-place team in the French League. She is making 59.6 percent of her shots from inside the arc and 45.5 percent outside the arc.

In EuroLeague play this season, Ayayi averaged 12.3 points, 6.1 rebounds and 3.7 assists while connecting on 52.4 percent of her two pointers, and 41.4 percent of her threes.
