LAS VEGAS (April 13, 2026) — With the No. 29 overall pick in the 2026 WNBA Draft, the Las Vegas Aces selected 6-4 forward Janiah Barker from Tennessee, and at No. 44 , the Aces selected Jordan Obi, a 6-1 guard from Kentucky.

“As a stretch four and all-around scorer, Janiah will add depth to our post rotation and her growth throughout her college career has been exciting to witness,” said Nikki Fargas, Las Vegas Aces president and GM. “Her work ethic and dedication to her game is the type of mindset we value at the Aces.

“Jordan is a versatile guard/forward whose skillset can translate into the WNBA,” continued Fargas. “She is a high motor player who gives maximum effort every night and sets the tone with her energy and hustle.

“We’re eager to see both our rookies hit the ground running and learning from experienced veterans on a championship caliber team.”

N0. 29 Janiah Barker

Barker, a 6-4 forward who wrapped her collegiate career at Tennessee, spent her first two years (2022-24) at Texas A&M and one year (2024-25) at UCLA, where she was the 2025 Big Ten Sixth Player of the Year.

As a freshman, Barker started 7 of 19 games and averaged 12.7 ppg, 5.9 rpg and 1.0 bpg, while shooting 45.6% from the field en route to earning 2023 SEC All-Freshman Team honors. She averaged 12.2 ppg and 7.6 rpg, while starting 27 of 30 games played as a sophomore. At UCLA, Barker started 3 of 36 games and posted 7.4 ppg and 6.0 rpg in helping the Bruins reach the 2025 Final Four before entering the transfer portal again. At Tennessee, she averaged 14.3 ppg and 6.6 rpg as a senior.

In all, Barker started 58 of 112 games played and averaged 11.2 ppg and 6.5 rpg, while shooting 46.8% from the field during her four-year collegiate career.

A three-time medalist on USA Basketball teams, Barker won gold medals at the 2019 FIBA U16 AmeriCup and 2021 FIBA 3×3 U18 World Cup, and a silver medal at the 2023 FIBA AmeriCup.

The Marietta, Georgia, native is a product of Montverde Academy where she was a 2022 McDonald’s All-American.

No. 44 Jordan Obi

Obi spent three years at Penn from 2021-24 before sitting out the 2024-25 season due to a lower leg injury and then transferred to Kentucky as a graduate student to finish out her collegiate career in 2025-26.

The Hartford, Connecticut, native was an All-Ivy second team selection as a sophomore and junior, averaging 13.3 and 7.5 rebounds over those two years. As a senior in 2023-24, she averaged career-bests of 14.8 ppg and 7.7 rpg, while shooting 38.6% from 3-point range en route to a 2024 All-Ivy first team nod. During her three years at Penn, Obi started all but one of her 83 games.

With Kentucky, she averaged 9.0 ppg and 6.0 rpg while shooting a career-high 51.8% from the floor in aiding the Wildcats to a 25-11 mark and the NCAA Sweet 16.

Over her four-year collegiate career, Obi averaged 12.3 ppg and 7.1 rpg on 44.5% shooting from the field.

Obi was a four-year letterwinner at Choate Rosemary Hall School (Conn.), where she was named All-New England Prep School Athletic Conference Class A in 2020 after earning 2019 All-NEPSAC honorable mention.
