INDIANAPOLIS (Aug. 6, 2026) —After spotting the Indiana Fever (19-12) 20 points in the first half, the Las Vegas Aces (22-9) came back and got a buzzer-beating 3-pointer from Chelsea Gray at the end of regulation then the Point Gawd hit another 3 before overtime expired to put a statement finish on an 86-84 victory on Thursday night in Indianapolis. A’ja Wilson finished with 26 points and a game-best 13 rebounds; Jackie Young; who scored a franchise-record 15-straight points, closed with 22 and 9 assists, including passes to Gray on her late 3s; NaLyssa Smith tallied 14 points and 9 caroms; and Gray posted 11 points and passed out 7 assists.

Indiana’s big three combined for 69 points, led by a game-high 28 from Kelsey Mitchell. Aliyah Boston had 21 points and 12 boards and Caitlin Clark tossed in 20 points.

1st Quarter Highlights (Indiana 20, Las Vegas 18)
Neither team led by more than 4 points in a low scoring first quarter. The Aces struggled to find the bottom of the net, making just 7 of 20 (.350) overall and 1 of 7 from distance; the Fever hit 9 of 18 (.500) attempts from the field and missed all 4 shots behind the arc. Gray led the Aces with 5 points and Monique Billings and Boston had 6 apiece for the hosts.

2nd Quarter Highlights (Indiana 42, Las Vegas 37)
The Aces missed their first 4 attempts and turned it over once, allowing the Fever to extend their lead to 28-18 before Smith briefly halted the run with the Aces first points in more than 3 minutes. The Fever continued to pull away and in all, put together a 22-4 run on a perfect 9 of 9 from the field, which left Las Vegas trailing 42-22 with 4 minutes left in the half. A minute later, following three more attempts by the Aces and Indiana’s first miss of the quarter, Smith connected on a pullup jumper. What followed was a 13-0 run by Young as the Fever coughed up the ball 3 times and missed their final 3 attempts as the Aces reeled the game back by halftime. During the Aces run, Las Vegas hit 6 of 7 and had a pair of steals. The Aces made 8 of 20 (.400) overall and 1 of 6 behind the arc; Indiana shot 9 of 14 (.643) from the floor and 3 of 5 from deep. Young’s 13 points led all scorers and Boston’s 9 topped the Fever.

3rd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 56, Indiana 51)
Young scored the first basket of the second half for her 15th consecutive point. The Aces closed the gap and took the lead by turning up its defense – they held Indiana to 0 of 6 from the field during an 11-2 run for a 48-44 edge. The Aces retained the lead but never went up more than 5. Las Vegas made 9 of 23 (.391) but held Indiana to an icy 2 of 12 (.167) from the floor. Young scored a high of 7 and Mitchell had 5 for the other side.

4th Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 75, Indiana 75)
The Aces pulled ahead 64-55 before Indiana regained the lead with a 10-0 run and from there, the lead see-sawed until the Fever broke a 72-72 tie to move in front 74-72 with 30.4 seconds left. The Aces were unable to convert and sent the Fever to the line in the waning seconds, where they went 1 of 4 for a 75-72 lead with 7 seconds on the clock. After the final miss, Wilson grabbed the board at 4.8 and the Aces advanced the ball on a timeout. The ball almost got stolen, but Young tipped it back to Gray, whose game-tying 3 went in as the buzzer sounded. The Aces made 7 of 16 (.438) overall and 1 of 3 from deep, while the Fever hit 8 of 16 (.500) from the field and 3 of 5 from 3-point. Clark and Wilson scored 10 apiece.

Overtime Highlights (Las Vegas 86, Indiana 84)
Wilson outscored the Fever 6-3 to help the Aces move in front 81-78, but the Fever scored the next 4 points for an 82-81 edge with less than 2 minutes remaining. After each team scored, the Fever were still up by a point, 84-83, with 38.2 left in overtime. After an Aces miss, Indiana got the board and it looked as if that was it. However, the Aces were not yet done. Wilson picked the Fever’s pocket and in the game’s final 6.6 seconds, Las Vegas got the ball up the court, and Young found Gray for the game winner. The Aces made 4 of 7 (.571) from the field and 1 of 3 from distance, while the Fever were just 3 of 7 (.429) overall and missed their lone attempt behind the arc. Wilson scored 8 and Mitchell had 7.

GAME NOTES

The Aces have now come back from being down by at least 20 points three times in franchise history. In addition to tonight, it happened on Aug. 20, 1999, when the Starzz overcame a 22-point deficit to defeat Phoenix 70-62 and on Aug. 15, 2021, when the Aces came back from 21 points down for a 84-83 win over Washington.

Gray continues to etch her name in the league’s history books, and did so tonight as the first player in WNBA history to sink a game-tying buzzer-beater at the end of regulation and a game-winning buzzer-beater at the end of overtime in the same game, per Elias (h/t to Alexa Philippou)

Needing 10 points to pass Adrienne Goodson (2,563) for No. 7 in franchise history, Gray now has 2,565 points in an Aces jersey.

With her 3 3s tonight, Gray passed Shekinna Stricklen (468) for No. 28 on the league’s all-time list and now has 470.

Gray has dished out at least 4 assists in a league-high 19 straight games.

Young’s 15 consecutive points scored for a team is a franchise record (9, twice) and the most by any player in the league this season (12, twice)

Wilson has now scored in double figures in a league-leading 54 consecutive games and hit the 20-point mark in 12 straight games, the second-longest streak in the league.
