Palmetto, FL (September 8, 2020)—The Las Vegas Aces continue to control their postseason destiny, thanks to a 92-86 victory over the Indiana Fever, Tuesday evening. With that win, the Aces improve to 15-4, and remain one game back of first-place Seattle (16-3), and a half game up on the Los Angeles Sparks (15-5). Las Vegas closes out the season with “road” games against Minnesota (13-7), Los Angeles, and Seattle. If they win out, they secure the number one seed in the WNBA Playoffs.

KEY RUNS

First Quarter (Las Vegas 26, Indiana 18)

Indiana led 9-6, but the Aces went on an 8-0 run to go up five, 14-9.

Second Quarter (Las Vegas 58, Indiana 41)

Las Vegas led 32-25 with 8:12 to go in the half, and went on an 8-0 run over the next 1:11 to lead by 15, 40-25. They scored 9 of the next 13 points to take their largest lead of the period, 49-29.

Third Quarter (Las Vegas 73, Indiana 67)

The Fever opened the quarter on an 11-4 run to close the gap to 10, 62-52, with 6:52 remaining. Indiana outscored the Aces 26-12 in the period, before Las Vegas scored the final three points heading into the fourth.

Fourth Quarter (Las Vegas 92, Indiana 86)

Indiana scored the first four points of the period, but Las Vegas netted 15 of the next 18 to go back up 14, 88-74. The Fever countered by scoring the next 10 points, slicing the advantage to four, 88-84.

Las Vegas’ bench outscored the Indiana bench, 39 to 9.

Angel McCoughtry scored in double figures for the 16th game this season, and the 276th time in her career (15 points).
