GAME RECAP: Aces vs Liberty

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 22, 2018)—The Las Vegas Aces got a season-high 27 points from Kayla McBride, and another double-double from rookie MVP candidate A’ja Wilson Friday night, as they upended the visiting New York Liberty, 88-78, at Mandalay Bay Events Center. It is the fourth win in the last six games for Las Vegas who improved to 5-9 on the year.

The teams were tied three times early in the fourth quarter, and it was just a three-point Las Vegas lead with 2:31 to go, but the Aces scored 10 of the next 14 points to go up nine with 23.2 seconds remaining and effectively end the game.

Las Vegas made 6 of 10 shots from three-point range while the Liberty went 8 for 26.

New York made just 37.5 percent of its shots from the field, but took 16 more shots than the Aces, who connected on 42.2 percent of their shots.

The Aces went 28 for 31 from the free throw line, while the Liberty went 10 for 10.

Las Vegas outscored New York 17-8 on second chance points.
