GAME RECAP: Aces Score Franchise-Record 113 Points In 36-Point Win Over Fever

LAS VEGAS (May 28, 2021)—The Las Vegas Aces were under-manned Friday evening, but that didn’t stop them from having a career night as Chelsea Gray posted season highs of 19 points and 12 assists, and five other members of the team scored in double figures in a 113-77 win over the visiting Indiana Fever. The 113 points is the most scored by the team in franchise history.

First Quarter (Las Vegas 30, Indiana 13)

Indiana scored the first basket of the game, but Las Vegas countered by scoring the next 10, and never trailed the rest of the way. A 9-0 run late in the quarter pushed the Aces advantage to 17

Second Quarter (Las Vegas 59, Indiana 47)

The Aces scored 8 of the first 9 points in the period, and eventually led by as many as 26. It was still a 22-point Las Vegas lead, 56-34, with 3:35 to go before the half, but the Fever went on a 13-1 run to slice the lead to 10, 57-47.

Third Quarter (Las Vegas 87, Indiana 58)

Las Vegas scored the first 9 points coming out of the break, and closed the third on a 12-5 run to go up 29, 87-58

Fourth Quarter (Las Vegas 113, Indiana 77)

The Aces pushed their lead to as many as 43 in the quarter.

Las Vegas made 55.1 percent of its field goal attempts, while the Fever made 39.4 percent.

The Aces outscored the Fever 44-22 in the paint, and 10-0 in fast break points.

Las Vegas forced Indiana into 22 turnovers, converting them into 21 points, while the Fever caused 8 Aces miscues flipping them into 9 points.

Chelsea Gray posted season highs of 19 points and 12 assists. Her 12 assists were one shy of tying the franchise record for most assists in a game. She handed out a franchise-record 10 assists in the first half, and a franchise-record tying 7 assists in the first quarter. She became the seventh player in franchise history to record a point-assist double-double

The Aces 113 points are the most they have scored in franchise history (108).

The 36-point margin of victory is the largest in franchise history in a home win.
