MINNEAPOLIS, MN (July 13, 2018)—The Las Vegas Aces won their fourth straight game for the first time since the 2012 campaign, gutting out an 85-77 victory over the defending champion Minnesota Lynx. The win also snapped an 11-game losing streak for Las Vegas against Minnesota.

The Connecticut Sun also won Friday evening, upending the Phoenix Mercury, 91-87, keeping the Aces a-game-and-a-half back of the eighth spot in the league standings.

GAME NOTES

A’ja Wilson (11 points) scored in double figures for the 22nd straight time to open her WNBA career. Wilson added 15 rebounds for her ninth double-double of her career.

Kayla McBride came within three rebounds and one assist of a triple double (24 points, seven rebounds, nine assists). That marked the 19th time that McBride has scored in double figures this season and the 18th

Kelsey Plum (11 points) scored in double figures for the seventh time this season.

Lindsay Whalen scored a season-high 22 points for the Lynx.

Carolyn Swords scored a season-high 11 points.

Minnesota was without the services of Rebekkah Brunson who was out due to a thigh injury.
