WINNING STREAK HISTORY: The Aces 17-game winning streak is the second-longest in league history after the 2001 Los Angeles Sparks won 18 in a row from June 26-Aug. 11, and the 2002-03 Los Angeles Sparks won 18 straight from Aug. 9, 2002 through June 14, 2003.
ACES vs STORM: The Aces have knocked Seattle out of the playoffs twice in the past 4 years, including the 2024 playoffs where the Aces swept the Storm in the opening round. In 2022, Las Vegas sent Seattle home in the semifinals best-of-five series in which the Aces won in four games.
Las Vegas, which was at full strength for Game 1 for the first time all season, heads into Game 2 with a full, healthy roster. The Aces trio of Wilson (23.4 ppg), Young (16.5 ppg) and Gray (11.2 ppg) created 61.1% of the Aces point production in the 2025 regular season and combined for 52 points in Game 1.
In addition to the trio, the Aces supporting cast has stepped up during the historic 17-game winning streak. Dana Evans has scored in double figures in 2 out of the past 3 games with 13 points on Sept. 9 and 14. Jewell Loyd has also scored in double digits in the last 3 games, recording 15 points, 21 and 14, respectively. Loyd has shot 12 of 23 (.462) the last 2 regular season games from beyond the arc and brought the momentum into Game 1 shooting 50% (3-6 3FGs) in Sunday’s win. NaLyssa Smith, who was one rebound away from recording her fourth double-double of the year enters Tuesday’s matchup scoring double figures in the last 4 games, and averaging 11 points during that span.
Cheyenne Parker-Tyus, who returned to the Aces lineup on Sept. 9 after giving birth just two months ago in July, has produced nearly point-per-minute performances over the last 3 games. The 11-year veteran has recorded 23 points in almost 24 minutes and included a made 3-pointer in 2 of those games.
Seattle, which was given its worst loss by the Aces in franchise playoff history on Sunday, will have to force a game 3 to keep their season alive. Although five Storm players recorded double figures in Game 1, the Aces held center Ezi Magbegor to 2 points and guard Brittney Sykes, who averaged 11.8 points in the regular season, scoreless.
Gabby Williams (16 points) and Nneka Ogwumike (11 points) both scored in double digits for the Storm, but were held to a combined 1 of 5 from beyond the arc.
Las Vegas is now 27-17 in playoff games since moving to the Sports & Entertainment Capital of the World in 2018. Sunday’s 25-point victory was the fifth time the Aces have won by a margin of 20 or more points and fourth game by at least 25 points
UP NEXT: Should the Storm even the series on Tuesday, Game 3 will be played in Las Vegas on Thursday, Sept. 18, at Michelob ULTRA Arena on ESPN2.
