ATLANTA (May 17, 2026) – Thanks to a late shot by Chelsea Gray and strong defense in the waning moments, the Las Vegas Aces (4-1) held back a fourth-quarter rally by the Atlanta Dream (2-1) and pulled out a 85-84 victory in front of a sellout crowd and NBC national audience on Sunday afternoon in Atlanta. Chelsea Gray made 5 of 8 3-pointers and led the Aces with 21 points to go with 5 rebounds and 6 assists, Chennedy Carter and A’ja Wilson scored 20 apiece and NaLyssa Smith tallied 13. Jackie Young grabbed 7 caroms and dished out 7 assists, which led to 17 points.

Led by Allisha Gray’s game-high 25 points, Atlanta also had four score in double figures, including Madina Okot, who posted the game’s lone double-double with 14 points and 11 boards.

1st Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 24, Atlanta 23)
The Aces never trailed in the quarter, and were up by as many as 7 points in the first 4 minutes. Shooting was relatively even – the Aces made 47.6% (10-21 FGs) of their shots from the field and the Dream hit on 46.7% (7-15 FGs). The Dream shot 8 of 8 from the line and the Aces were 2 of 2. Chelsea Gray and Te-Hina Paopao scored 7 apiece to lead their respective teams.

2nd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 51, Atlanta 44)
Atlanta took a brief lead on a 3-pointer to open the quarter, before Las Vegas scored 11 straight behind a trio of 3s for a 35-26 advantage. The Aces extended their lead to double figures, 40-30 midway through, but were unable to shake the Dream. With the score listing 49-37 in favor of Las Vegas, Atlanta scored the next 7 before a Carter bucket with 11.2 seconds left halted the run. The Aces hit on 50% of their shots from the field and 4 of 7 from 3-point and held the Dream to 38.9% of their field goal attempts and 2 of 7 from deep. Allisha Gray scored a high of 10 points and Wilson topped out with 9.

3rd Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 75, Atlanta 63)
Out of the break, Las Vegas methodically built a 19-point lead, its largest of the game (73-54) and looked to be running away with it. However, the Dream’s defense forced the Aces into shooting 2 of 7 from the floor and committing a pair of turnovers, while its offense clawed back to 73-63 with 14.8 seconds on the clock. Carter made it a 12-point lead heading in the final frame with two from the line. The Aces shot 42.1% from the field and the Dream hit just 27.3% from the floor. Atlanta scored 6 off 12 trips to the line, while the Aces went 4 of 6 from the stripe. Carter led the field with 8 points and Paopao had 5.

4th Quarter Highlights (Las Vegas 85, Atlanta 84)
A 6-1 Aces run put Las Vegas up 81-64 two minutes into the quarter. From there, the Aces shooting went cold and Atlanta took advantage by stringing together 16 straight points, drawing to 81-80 with 2:16 remaining. Wilson ended the Aces 6-minute scoring drought to make it 83-80 with less than two minutes remaining. Atlanta scored the next 4 points – 2 at the line and a transition layup, moving in front for just the second time. Following a Chelsea Gray miss, Young secured the board and got tied up with Allisha Gray for a jump ball. Young tipped the ball to Steph Talbot, who dished to Chelsea Gray, who swished in the game winner with 3.6 seconds on the clock. Atlanta advanced the ball, but the Las Vegas defense forced the Dream to call another timeout. The ball was inbounded to Allisha Gray, who took a dribble to the basket before Chelsea Gray stole it away for the win. The Aces connected on just 4 of 15 (.267) from the field and 2 of 3 from the line; Atlanta shot 7 of 18 (.389) overall and 6 of 9 free throws. Allisha Gray scored 8 and Smith led the Aces with 5 points.
