Las Vegas made it three straight Friday with an, 86-82, win over the Los Angeles Sparks behind 26 points from A’ja Wilson and 24 from Angel McCoughtry.

Wilson ranks first in the league in scoring (20.8 ppg) and fourth in rebounding (9.5 rpg), and has scored in double figures in all six games this season. The Aces boast three other double-figure scorers in McCoughtry (16.0 ppg), Dearica Hamby (12.7) and Kayla McBride (10.3). McCoughtry, an 11-year WNBA veteran and five-time All-Star selection, is averaging career highs in field goal percentage, three-point field goal percentage and free throw percentage.

The Aces have the third best defense in the league this season, allowing just 95.7 points per 100 possessions. They are tops in the W in defensive three-point field goal percentage (.285), and defensive rebound percentage (.806)

The Liberty are coming off their first win of the season, which came despite the team being without the services of Sabina Ionescu. The overall number one draft pick injured her ankle last week, and has left the wubble to return to New York.

Kia Nurse (17 points), Layshia Clarendon (14) and Amanda Zahui B (14) paced the way offensively in New York’s win over Washington. Clarendon is the top active scorer on the team at 13.3 points per game, but she is the only member of the team, save Ionescu (18.3 ppg), scoring in double figures this season. Zahui B is averaging 9.8 points per game, while Nurse chips in 9.6 per contest.

Despite the victory, New York has a -13.7 scoring differential and four of their five losses have been by 10 or more points. They rank last in the league in Offensive Efficiency (87.7 points per 100 possessions), and 10th in Defensive Efficiency (104.4).

The Aces are 22-27 all-time against the Liberty, but Las Vegas has won five of the last six meetings between the clubs.
