A’ja Wilson Named WNBA Western Conference Player of the Month

Bradenton, FL (September 15, 2020)—The WNBA announced today that A’ja Wilson in the league’s Western Conference Player of the Month for September.

The two-time WNBA All-Star and leading MVP candidate led the Aces to a 6-1 record in the month, including six straight wins to close out the regular season to secure the No. 1 overall seed in the playoffs. The last three wins of the year came over just four days, and were against the top three non-Aces teams in the league.

Wilson averaged 20.9 points, 8.3 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2.57 blocked shots per game in September.

The South Carolina graduate swept the WNBA’s monthly awards for the Western Conference this season, earning the honor for August as well. She also had two Western Conference Player of the Week Awards in 2020.
