NEW YORK (Sept. 2, 2026) — The WNBA announced today that four-time league and reigning M’VP A’ja Wilson has been named Western Conference Player of the Month for the month of August. This is her fourth honor this year after receiving it in each of the previous three months of play for a full season sweep.

Wilson is the only player in league history to sweep WNBA monthly honors in multiple seasons, after claiming both available awards in the 2020 ‘wubble’ season.

Over the month of August, in which the Las Vegas Aces posted a 7-5 record, Wilson averaged 25 points on 49.5% field goal shooting, 8.8 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 2.1 blocks and knocked down 88% of her free throws in the 11 games in which she appeared.

On Aug. 25, Wilson earned her 32^nd Western Conference Player of the Week award, which is one award from tying Tina Charles’ record 33 honors.

Wilson previously earned the Player of the Month award in Aug. and Sept. 2020; June 2021; May and July 2022; June, July and Aug. 2023; May, June, July and Sept. 2024; Aug. 2025; and May, June, and July 2026.

Wilson’s August Highlights

Aug. 1 at Chicago
Wilson led the field with game-highs of 36 points, 12 rebounds and 2 blocks to go along with 4 assists in the 84-83 loss to the Sky.

Aug. 3 at Atlanta
The Aces dominated the Dream 109-87 behind Wilson’s 23 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 3 blocks in the victory. With 6 defensive rebounds, she passed Tina Thompson for No. 11 on the league’s all-time list. Wilson also passed No. 12 Katie Smith on the all-time scoring list. Further, her 3 blocks passed Lauren Jackson to take the No. 6 spot on the W’s all-time list.

Aug. 6 at Indiana
Wilson posted team-highs of 26 points and 13 rebounds to go along with 3 assists, 2 blocks and a key steal at the end of overtime in the narrow 86-84 Aces win against the Fever.

Aug. 8 at Minnesota
Despite the Aces’ 98-87 loss to the Lynx, Wilson finished with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 2 blocks. She made history by becoming just the second W player to notch at least 6,500 points, 2,500 rebounds and 500 blocked shots, and did so in 106 fewer games than Candace Parker, who hit those numbers in 403 games.

Aug. 11 vs. Washington
Led by Wilson’s game-highs of 26 points, including 5 of 5 from the free throw line, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks, the Aces halted the Mystics’ 7-game winning streak in their 86-76 home win.

Aug. 13 vs. Washington
In the playoff-clinching 83-76 win over the Mystics, Wilson tallied 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and a game-high 2 blocks.

Aug. 16 vs. Minnesota
Wilson recorded a game-high 32 points to go with 7 rebounds and 2 steals in the 92-87 loss to Minnesota. In the contest, Wilson moved past Parker and into the No. 11 spot on the league’s all-time scoring charts. Also, her 1 blocked shot reached 600 for her career and she became only the 6^th player in W history to hit the milestone. Additionally, her game-high 10 made field goals passed Tamika Catchings for No. 13 on the all-time list.

Aug. 18 vs. Atlanta
In the 97-82 loss to the Dream, Wilson led with game-highs of 27 points, 14 rebounds, 4 blocks and shot 12 of 12 from the charity stripe. She recorded her 19^th career game with at least 25 points and 10 rebounds and 10 made free throws. Not only that, Wilson became only the second player in W history behind Elena Delle Donne (5) to tally multiple games with at least 25 points, 10 rebounds and 10 made free throws without a miss, and has done so now in 4 games.

Aug. 20 vs. Connecticut
Wilson helped Las Vegas get back in the win column with 20 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds in the dominating 101-78 victory over the Sun. The game marked her 302nd for the Aces, which passed Sophia Young-Malcolm for the most games played in franchise history.

Aug. 23 at Toronto
A game-high 27-point, 7-rebound and 7-assist performance by Wilson helped lift the Aces to an 88-78 win against Toronto in Vancouver, British Columbia. Her 27 points moved her past the 912 she scored in 2023 and into the No. 6 spot for single-season scoring in W history. Also, she notched her 29^th 20-point game of the season, giving her 191 on her career to move ahead of Charles’ 190 for the second-most 20-point games in league history.

Aug. 28 vs. Toronto
The reigning M’VP recorded game-highs of 27 points and 8 rebounds in the 93-73 win over the Tempo to close out August. She entered the matchup listing at No. 5 on the all-time single season scoring list with 935 points and passed the 937 she scored in 2025 and teammate Jewell Loyd’s 939 points in 2023 to move into at No. 2 with 962 (Kelsey Mitchell later leapfrogged Wilson, bumping Wilson’s 962 to No. 3).
