Aces Sign Alexis Peterson, Courtney Range To Training Camp Contracts

Las Vegas, NV (February 1, 2023)—Las Vegas Aces General Manager Natalie Williams announced today that the team has signed guard Alexis Peterson and forward/center Courtney Range to training camp contracts.

Peterson (27) was originally selected by the Seattle Storm in the second round (No. 15 overall) of the 2017 WNBA Draft. She played in 17 games during the 2017 WNBA regular season for the Storm, averaging 2.1 points, 1.2 rebounds and 0.8 assists on the year.

She has played each of the past two overseas seasons for Angers in France. This year, Peterson is averaging 16.4 points 3.9 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.9 steals while connecting on 39.4 percent of her three-pointers in LFB play. She has performed even better in EuroCup competition, averaging 18.1 points, 4.0 rebounds, 4.1 assists, and 3.3 steals while making 52.2 percent of her shots from distance.

During the 2021-22 French season, Peterson led Angers in scoring (16.7 ppg), assists (6.0 apg) and free throw percentage (90.1, 127 for 141).

Peterson has also played overseas in Israel and Poland since graduating from Syracuse in 2017. She finished her career with the Orange as the program’s career leaders in assists, while ranking second in career points. She was named the ACC Player of the Year as a senior after leading the conference and ranking sixth nationally in scoring (23.4 ppg), and finishing second in the ACC and 11th in the country in assists (7.0 apg). Peterson also earned a spot on the AP All-American Second Team, and espnW All-America Honorable Mention Team.

In 2021, Peterson competed internationally for USA Basketball in 3×3, winning the FIBA Women’s Series Klaipeida Stop.

Range (27) currently plays for Fribourg in Switzerland. In league play, the Hayward, California native is averaging 16.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.3 assists while making 42.9 percent of her three-pointers. In EuroCup competition, Range is averaging 18.4 points, 8.9 boards, and 3.9 assists. Fribourg is a perfect 10-0 in league play this season.

Range has also played overseas in Germany, Belgium and Spain since graduating from Cal in 2017. A two-time All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention selection, Range helped the Golden Bears to three 20-win seasons, and three trips to the NCAA Tournament.
