Aces Sign Jackie Young To Contract Extension

Las Vegas, NV (May 15, 2022)—Las Vegas Aces General Manager Natalie Williams announced today that the team has signed fourth-year guard Jackie Young to a contract extension.

“We are extremely excited to announce that Jackie has re-signed with the Aces!” said Williams. “She is a true professional, and a beast of a defender who is constantly proving that she is one of the premier guards in the league.”

“I’m grateful to Mark Davis and the Aces organization for believing in me and their commitment to investing in our team,” said Young. “I can’t wait to be back in The House in front of the best fans in the league, and for the opportunity to continue to call Vegas home.”

The 2019 overall number one draft pick has increased her scoring average and field goal percentage in each of her four seasons in Las Vegas. This year, the former WNBA All-Rookie performer ranks 8th in the league in scoring (17.8 ppg), 14th in assists (3.8), 17th in steals (1.5), 5th in FG% (55.6%), 23rd in free throw percentage (85.7%) and 6th in minutes played (33.8 mpg).

Young has been a workhorse for the Aces, logging the 12th most minutes in the league since being drafted. She is also one of only three players in the WNBA to play in every one of their team’s regular season game since 2019.

The Aces have advanced to the playoffs in each of Young’s three WNBA seasons, breaking a streak of five straight years with making the postseason in Young’s rookie campaign. Two of those trips saw the Aces advance to the WNBA Semifinals, while the 2020 squad made its way to the WNBA Finals.
