Las Vegas (July 4, 2020)—Las Vegas Aces General Manager Dan Padover announced today that the Aces signed six-year WNBA center Avery Warley-Talbert.
The Washington DC native played collegiately at Liberty University where she was named Big South Defensive Player of the Year as a junior in 2011, and was a two-time, First-Team All-Big South honoree.
Warley-Talbert signed as a free agent with the Phoenix Mercury in 2012, playing in 28 games and averaging 3.1 points and 5.7 rebounds.
In 2013, she saw action with the New York Liberty and Chicago Sky, and in 2014, she enjoyed her best season in the W, starting 23 games for New York, and averaging 4.2 points and 3.8 rebounds. Warley-Talbert also connected on 48.9 percent of her field goal attempts, and 83.3 percent of her free throws that year.
She spent the 2015 season with the Liberty, and split time in 2016 between the Atlanta Dream and the San Antonio Stars. The 32-year-old did not play in the WNBA in 2017 and 2018, but played in three games for the Liberty during the 2019 season.
Warley-Talbert played this past offseason for Cankaya in the Turkish League (KBSL) where she averaged 11.0 points and 10.7 rebounds while making 68.6 percent of her shots from the field.
