Aces Open Expanded 2020 Schedule vs. Dallas At Mandalay Bay Events Center, May 17

~ League Expands Regular Season From 34 To 36 Games ~

Las Vegas (January 16, 2020)—The WNBA released its 2020 schedule today, and the Las Vegas Aces begin pursuit of their first league championship on Sunday, May 17 with a 3:00 pm PT home tilt against the Dallas Wings at Mandalay Bay Events Center (view complete schedule).

The league expanded its regular season from 34 to 36 games, and will break for the Olympics from July 11 through August 15. The final day of the regular season is Sunday, September 20.

With the expanded schedule the Aces play each team three times, save for the Dallas Wings, Minnesota Lynx, and Seattle Storm, whom they play four times each.

ESPN networks will present 17 WNBA regular season telecasts in 2020, including five games on ABC—up from three last season. ESPN will televise two regular season games, and ESPN2 will air 10. ESPN networks will also present up to 19 playoff games. All ESPN telecasts during the regular season and postseason will stream live on the ESPN app.

Three of the Aces games this season are being televised nationally on the ESPN family of networks—Saturday June 6 at home vs. Phoenix (12:00 pm PT); Tuesday, June 16 at Los Angeles (7:00 pm); and Saturday, June 27 vs. Chicago (1:00 pm).

Las Vegas gets its first crack at the 2019 WNBA Champion Washington Mystics on the road, Friday, July 21 at 4:00 pm. In addition, the Aces host the Mystics on Tuesday, September 1 (7:00 pm), and travel once again to our nation’s capital on Friday, September 18 (4:00 pm).

The first rematch between Las Vegas and Chicago since the Hamby Heave sent the Aces into the WNBA Semifinals is in the Windy City on Sunday, May 24 at 3:00 pm.

Additional Schedule Notes

  • There will be no All-Star Game this year due to the Olympic Break.
  • The Aces’ longest home stand of the year is six games, from June 23-July 5, tying the franchise record for longest home stand in history (2007).
  • The Aces close out their schedule with four straight road games.
  • Las Vegas plays five of its last six games against Eastern Conference opponents.
  • The Aces have two three-game road trips—July 16-21, and August 21-25—and two four-game road trips—May 24-31, and September 13-20. The team has never had more than three road trips of three or more games in its history (2006).
  • Las Vegas has one set of back-to-back games—at Dallas on July 7 at 10 am, and at Phoenix on July 8 at 12:30 pm.
  • This year’s season opener is on May 17. The 2019 season opener was on May 26, and in 2018 it was May 20.
  • The earliest season opener for the franchise was May 13 in 2017.
  • The final game of the season this year is September 20. The final game of 2019 was on September 8, and in 2018 it was on August 19.
  • The latest the WNBA regular season has gone is September 23 in 2012.
