San Antonio added another current member of the team in the first round of the 2015 WNBA Draft, as the Stars selected Wake Forest forward Dearica Hamby (pictured).
The 6-3 Hamby played in 90 games during her first three years in the league, starting 44. Her best season to date was in 2016 when she averaged career highs of 9.0 points and 5.1 rebounds. Last season she set career highs in field goal percentage (.457) and three-point field goal percentage (.375).
The Stars didn’t have a second round pick in 2015, having previously traded it to Indiana.
In the third round, they took Dragana Stankovic from Serbia, and Nikki Moody from Iowa State. Moody was an All-Big 12 First Team selection as a senior, and WBCA Honorable Mention All-American. She also set the Cyclones career assist record during her time at Iowa State.
Stankovic never came to camp, and has yet to play in a WNBA game. Moody was waived prior to the start of the 2015 regular season.
