Week 1: Jan 17-21

Tiffany Hayes helped her Laces squad to a 2-0 record over the first weekend of Unrivaled play, while Laces teammate Jackie Young sat out (left knee) both games and Chelsea Gray and her Rose team went 0-2.

Hayes averaged 15 ppg over 13 minutes per game, while contributing 7 rpg, 5 apg and 1.5 spg over her first two games. Gray contributed 17.5 ppg, 5.5 rpg and 6.0 apg over her 14.5 mpg.

Vinyl moved ahead with 6 seconds left in the first half and retained its lead through the remainder of the game

Laces 86, Phantom 48
The Laces hit back-to-back 3s to start the game and owned a 23-11 lead after the first quarter. By the half it was a 50-29 advantage and Phantom never threatened. The Laces combined to shoot 13-29 from 3-point range and shot 56.9% from the field to Phantom’s 32.7%.

Lunar Owls 79, Rose 70
The Lunar Owls jumped to an early lead, including by 10 points early in the second half. Rose fought back and a Gray 2-pointer pulled the Rose to within a point, 57-56, and knotted it up 62-all on a traditional 3-point play minutes later. However, the Lunar Owls scored the next 8 points and held off the Rose.

The Laces pulled out another 20-point victory with the help of Hayes’ 16 points, over the Mist and league co-founder Breanna Stewart (17 points)
