Aces Add Tyler Marsh To Coaching Staff

Las Vegas, NV (March 14, 2022)—Las Vegas Aces Head Coach Becky Hammon announced today that the team has hired Tyler Marsh as its assistant coach/head of player development.

“I’m very excited to be adding Tyler Marsh to our Aces coaching staff,” said Hammon. “Tyler has done extensive work in scouting player personnel, scouting reports and player development in both the G league and NBA. He is essentially a Swiss Army knife in the coaching field, and I know will excel in forming great working relationships with our players.

“Tyler will be our head of player development, and will be in charge of in-season and off-season workout plans for our entire team, as well as doing scouting reports during our season. I know he will be a great addition to the Aces organization and the Las Vegas community!”

“It’s an unbelievable blessing to be part of the Las Vegas Aces organization,” said Marsh. “I want to thank Mark Davis, team president Nikki Fargas, and Coach Becky Hammon for trusting me with this incredible opportunity. I believe in the championship vision of our leadership, and combined with the limitless talent on our team, I’m excited to pursue our goal of bringing the city of Las Vegas a WNBA title.

“I also want to take a moment to thank Kevin Pritchard, Coach Rick Carlisle, Coach Nate Bjorkgren, and the entire Pacers’ organization for their belief and support during what was an amazing two years with the Blue & Gold. I’m forever grateful.”

For the past two years, Marsh has served as an assistant coach/player development with the Indiana Pacers under Nate Bjorkgren (2020-21) and Rick Carlisle (2021-22).

Prior to his time in Indy, Marsh was the assistant video coordinator and player development coach for the Toronto Raptors, winning the NBA Championship in 2019 alongside Head Coach Nick Nurse.

He also spent three seasons as an assistant coach in the G League with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants (2016-17), the Bakersfield Jam (2014-15) and the Iowa Energy (2013-14), and won a league championship working on Nurse’s coaching staff with the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2012-13).

Marsh played collegiately at Alabama Birmingham (2006-08) and Birmingham-Southern (2008-10).

Coaching is in Marsh’s bloodline, as his father, Donnie, has more than four decades in the industry, and is currently an assistant coach at Detroit-Mercy. The younger Marsh had the opportunity to coach alongside his father at Alabama A&M in the 2017-18 season.
