The San Antonio Stars relocated to Las Vegas ahead of the 2018 season, becoming the Las Vegas Aces. The team was built through three consecutive No. 1 overall draft picks: Kelsey Plum (San Antonio, 2017), A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas, 2018), and Jackie Young (Las Vegas, 2019). These picks formed the core of the franchise’s newfound success, along with the addition of Chelsea Gray in 2021. Prior to the 2021 season, Las Vegas Raiders owner Mark Davis purchased the team. He hired head coach Becky Hammon prior to the 2022 season. Under her leadership, the Aces won back-to-back championships in 2022 and 2023, and continued to build their dynasty with another title in 2025. Ahead of the 2023 season, the team also unveiled new colors; silver, black, and white, replacing their original gold, red, and black.
