Getting To Know … Moriah Jefferson

Moriah Jefferson is the Aces’ third-year point guard, who is in market this offseason to make appearances in the community, and rehab an injury that kept her out of one-third of the 2017 campaign.

A four-time national champion with the UConn Huskies, Moriah was twice name the winner of the Nancy Lieberman Award which goes to the top point guard in the nation. Upon graduation, she ranked first on the Huskies’ career assists chart, and second in steals. View highlights from her UConn days.

The San Antonio Stars selected Moriah with the second pick in the 2016 WNBA Draft. See WNBA President Lisa Borders announce the selection on ESPN2.

Moriah was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team that season after averaging 13.9 points and 4.2 assists per game. Although her primary job as a point guard is to distribute the basketball, she can also fill up the basket all by herself. Watch as she scores a career-high 31 points, including a buzzer beater for the win, in a 2016 victory over the Indiana Fever.
