Aces Sign Sequoia Holmes As WNBA Grants Team Emergency Hardship Exception

LAS VEGAS, NV (June 8, 2018)—Las Vegas Aces President of Basketball Operations and Head Coach Bill Laimbeer announced today that the team has signed Las Vegas native Sequoia Holmes following the granting of an emergency hardship exception by the WNBA.

The Aces have been without the services of Moriah Jefferson and Isabelle Harrison for the entire season due to injury, and they lost Nia Coffey to injury in the team’s defeat at Chicago on June 3.

Holmes was on Las Vegas’ training camp roster this season, but was waived by the team in its final series of cuts on May 17. The fourth year guard/forward enjoyed her best season in the W in 2017 as a member of the San Antonio Stars when she averaged 3.3 points per game, and set career highs in field goal percentage and three-point field goal percentage.

The Aces begin a four-game, seven-day road trip on Sunday, June 10 at Phoenix.
