San Antonio had just one pick in the 2012 WNBA Draft having traded away its second and third round picks the year prior for a one-year rental of Scholanda (Robinson) Dorrell.
With the sixth overall selection in the 2012 Draft, the Silver Stars took Miami guard Shenise Johnson. Johnson played in a reserve roll as a rookie, averaging 5.6 points and 3.9 rebounds, but moved into the starting rotation in 2013. She rewarded San Antonio by averaging 11.0 points per game during her sophomore campaign.
In 2014, Johnson returned to her reserve roll, and averaged 6.0 points per game. The Silver Stars traded her prior to the start of the 2015 season, along with their second round pick in the 2015 WNBA Draft, to Indiana in exchange for the Fever’s first and third round picks in the 2015 Draft. Johnson has played the last three seasons in Indiana, and is averaging more than 10 points per game during her time with the Fever.
