BY THE NUMBERS

DeShields opted not to utilize her final year of eligibility at Tennessee this season, and instead is playing professionally in Turkey where she is the second leading scorer for Cukurova. She led the Lady Vols in scoring in each of her two seasons in Knoxville, and her 15.7 points per game scoring average is the eighth highest in Tennessee history. Her 17.4 points per game in 2016-17 was the highest scoring average for a member of the Lady Vols since Candace Parker averaged 21.3 points per game in 2007-08.

ACES SCOUTING REPORT

Diamond DeShields is an athletic scoring guard with a versatile offensive game . Very capable of scoring from all areas of the floor especially with her dominant mid-range game.

WHAT OTHERS ARE SAYING

“Just because she left Tennessee early doesn’t mean teams have forgotten the many ways DeShields can impact a game. No one has forgotten that both her block and steal percentages topped 2, with an assist percentage near 25, while she rebounds well for her 6-1 height and scores in a variety of ways. The potential is unlimited, with possibly the highest ceiling in the draft.”

      ~ Howard Megdal, SummittHoops

“DeShields has great ball-handling skills, is a deft slasher to the basket and a strong defender, a versatile package that will appeal greatly to WNBA teams.”
